For this project we were assigned to put soft rigid bodies something in a scene. At first I was going to do the lava lamp you see above, but I ran into many problems. Running into the blobs blowing up inside the glass, and other things with the soft bodies on the blobs. So I decided to do something simple and just make cubes, with different colors, and put soft bodies on them. I put lattice's on each of the cubes. I also put a gravity field on each one, and I changed the stillness on the particles of each to 10, with the damping at 0.

Lesson 2: Particles
The is my final creation for lesson 2. For lesson 2 we learned and were taught about particles. I created the effect of a "Harry Potter" type scene, modeling a wand and making "magic" come out of it, then colliding with the wall. I modeling that wand using reference of Voldemort's wand. I used a basic mia material x, then set the preset to chrome replacement to give it the chrome look. For the "magic" coming out the wand I just used a cloud particle, then messed with the settings to give the particle its color and movement. For the flow of the "magic" I created a curve then connected the particles to the curve with a create motion path using the curve. For the smoke coming from the wall I used a cloud particle and messed with the settings to get its look. I also put no field on it because I didn't want the smoke dropping to the ground. For the sparks I used streak particles and added a gravity field so that they would fall down. I keyed the smoke and sparks to start at frame 120, so that as SOON as the "magic" hits the wall, it gives it that natural look of sparks and smoke coming from the collision.
Lesson 1: Rigid Bodies
This is the project we did for week 1 in VEF1. We were given a scene with many objects in the scene. We had to at least have 10 simulations running for the requirements. I started off with putting a nail constraint on the hammer to give it that swing effect. Once the constraint was added, I put a gravity field on it so that the hammer would swing into the ball. I also added a active rigid body to the hammer so that the hammer would collide with the ball. All the balls in scene had gravity fields on them so that they would just drop or roll to the places that are guided. All the platforms in the scene were given passive rigid bodies so that when something in the scene falls on the platforms, it wouldn't fall through. The area where the 3 balls fell, I added a basic mold to shape that box the balls are falling in so that they wouldn't fall out. Once the shape was fitting properly I made the geometry invisible so that we couldn't see it. Through out the rest of the scene, passive and active rigid bodies were placed so that objects could collide with other objects in the scene and give it that natural flow effect.
